Composite Skill Labs

One Lab. Every Future Skill.

We design, equip, and run a composite skill lab for your school — AI, robotics, electronics, coding, 3D printing, and immersive tech under one roof, with the curriculum and teacher training to use it from day one.

What CBSE requires

The Composite Skill Lab mandate, in plain terms

CBSE introduced Composite Skill Labs through Circular Skill-75/2024 (23 August 2024) and set out detailed guidelines in Circular Skill-13/2026 (20 March 2026). Here is what it means for your school.

Who and when

Every CBSE school

New affiliation applicants need the lab in place. Existing schools must set one up by 22 August 2027.

Time allocation

About 110 hours a year

CBSE guidelines suggest planning around 110 hours of skill education a year for Classes VI–X.

Space

600 sq ft, or 2 × 400 sq ft

One lab for Classes VI–XII, or two labs: one for Classes VI–X and one for XI–XII.

Safety and capacity

Safe for 25–40 students

Wide exits, fire extinguisher and first-aid kit, emergency stops, labelled storage and posted do's and don'ts.

CBSE describes its tool and equipment lists as suggestive. We match the equipment to the skill sectors your school actually offers.

Electronics and robotics

Microcontrollers, sensors and build stations

Fabrication

3D printers, hand tools and power tools

IT, coding and media

Computers, AI cameras and graphics tablets

Storage and safety

Lockable cupboards, fire extinguisher, first-aid kit

Teacher station and display

Faculty console, projector and demo area

Illustrative only. Final zoning depends on your room dimensions, sector choices and student strength.

What is a composite skill lab?

A composite skill lab is a single, multi-zone learning space where students move between technologies instead of being limited to one. The same room supports a robotics build on Monday, an AI model on Wednesday, and a 3D-printed prototype on Friday.

For a school, that means one investment, one timetable, and one support partner — rather than separate labs that sit idle between projects.

Skill zones inside the lab

Pick the zones that fit your students; every lab is planned around your space, grades, and goals.

AI & Machine Learning

Train simple models, work with data, and see how AI makes decisions.

Robotics

Build, wire, and program robots that sense and respond to the world.

Electronics & IoT

Circuits, sensors, and connected devices that turn ideas into working prototypes.

Coding

Block-based to text-based programming, taught as a progression.

3D Printing & Fabrication

Design a part, print it, test it, and improve it.

AR / VR

Explore and create immersive experiences for science and design.

Drones

Safe, supervised flight and programming activities.

Innovation & Design

Design thinking and project work that ties every zone together.

Questions to ask any lab provider

A short checklist to help you compare proposals with confidence.

Is a curriculum included, and does it cover each grade you teach?

Will teachers be trained, and is the training hands-on?

Who installs the equipment and tests it before handover?

What support is available after the lab opens?

Can the lab grow — more zones, more kits — without starting over?

How are student progress and learning outcomes shown?
